Is the shingles vaccine covered by OHIP in Ontario?

The Shingrix shingles vaccine is publicly funded in Ontario for adults 65 and older, as well as for adults 50+ who are immunocompromised. For adults 50–64 without qualifying conditions, the vaccine is available but may require out-of-pocket payment. Check your private insurance coverage.

How do I know which vaccines I need?

Our pharmacist will conduct a brief assessment based on your age, health status, travel history, and current immunization records. We'll recommend vaccines based on Ontario's immunization guidelines and your individual risk factors. Bring any vaccination records you have.

Are there vaccines for seniors specifically at your pharmacy?

Yes. We stock vaccines particularly important for seniors including the high-dose flu vaccine (Fluzone High-Dose), shingles vaccine (Shingrix), pneumococcal vaccines (Prevnar 20 and Pneumovax), and others. Seniors are a priority population for our immunization services.

Can I get vaccinated without a health card?

A health card is required for publicly funded vaccines. For privately purchased vaccines, a health card is not required. Contact us at 613-440-9199 and we'll discuss your options based on your specific situation.

Do you provide immunization records?

Yes. We maintain vaccination records and can provide documentation for all vaccines administered at our pharmacy. These records are important for travel, employment, and school requirements. We can also help you access your Ontario immunization history through COVaxON records.
